Peter, This should be straight forward. Taking the example you mention: got to Search>Search and Replace. In the "From Where" box select "Lists-Location"; in the "Find What" box insert "Sa, Aust" (was that a typo?) and in "Replacement Text" enter "South Australia, Australia".
Check the "Anywhere in field" and "Replace only found text....." radio buttons and then Start. You will be given the option of approving each change or just doing a batch change. I strongly recommend backing-up your file before running this. (but the back-up should be up to date anyhow :-) ). As a recent convert to Legacy and long term Family Historian, I have decided to settle on Legacy as my chosen genealogy software. I have my critical data scattered in various GEDCOM files either generated from my previous software or kindly donated to me from other like minded fellow researchers. In attempts to establish my Legacy master data file, I have been able to successfully import and merge these various GEDCOM files without much of an issue. However I am finding it an arduous task to edit the multitude of formatting corrections I have in my Location data. I have been editing this data 'entry by entry' via the master list and then by using the function; 'Combine the highlighted location with another on the list'. Is there a way to open up the Master Location database and apply bulk changes to it by using like a Find & Replace function? If so, this would be very handy where there are many entries that require the same correction. By example, the majority of locations I have for 'South Australia' are mostly recorded as ' , Sa, Aust' and I wish to change all of these Master Location Entries to ' , South Australia, Australia'.
