Hi Thanks for your comments, Richard. I might go back to the web site & see if they still have a demo period. I didn’t notice before if that had that. Yet from what you say, it may not be a valuable asset. I’m planning to create Legacy web pages on a CD but with just stories about the ancestors rather than all the dates etc. I’ll have all the data as well, but in a separate file so people can simply read the story of “Grandfather Owen” or Great Uncle Frederick” or have access to all the census forms & certificates and so on, as they choose.
Thanks again for writing, Richard, much appreciated. Best wishes Tom _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Richard Hallford Sent: Tuesday, 11 December 2007 9:43 AM To: LegacyUserGroup@legacyfamilytree.com Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Personal Historian Tom, I live in Melbourne, but am originally of Scottish birth. I used the Personal Historian for the demo period. I did not buy it. I thought that it did not offer much in the way of help that I could not already do in Word. Also, I visited the forums and there was precious few entries. It appeared to me that this may have been an abandoned project, or at least not very well supported. A number of the messages said the same thing. This was about a year ago, so things may have changed. Kindest Regards, Richard Hallford. As I live in Australia and my ancestors came, mainly, from England and New Zealand and, of course, Australia, how much benefit would it be to me in regard to time-lines, other historical facts, and the like. Are there any Australian, British or New Zealanders who have used this add-on and how was it for us antipodeans? Useful? Good value? Helpful?
