Your reply was in rtf. One giveaway is the size (14KB). I know I should trim
from previous posts but in this case I will not to show my plain text
shrinking msg size with no trimming.
Since you are using MS Outlook 10, (I use OE) I can't give you specific
instructions but there is a separate setting for "REPLY TO MESSAGES IN THE
SAME FORMAT AS THEY WERE SENT". If that is not set properly your replys will
only depend on the format of the preceding message regardless of how you
compose a new message.

Since you use Outlook Express I can give specifics;
1. Under Tools / Options / Send: under sending untick the box for "Reply to
messages in the same format as they were sent" and under mail sending format
select Plain Text.
