Thanks to these further suggestions. I'm not new to Legacy but did once manage to delete both my sister and myself which required a lot of use of backups, exporting and merging to add us back in again, so I am always now very careful not to delete people by mistake. That is really why I sought advice before proceeding with these additional marriages.

But, thanks anyway.

Elizabeth,
BEFORE you do what Susan is suggesting, make sure that you do a BACKUP! Especially if you are new to Legacy. This is an area where you can get yourself into lots and lots of trouble.

Hi Elizabeth,
In the family view, select the spouses icon for either the husband or
the wife. You should see the spouse listed four times. Check to see
which marriage has the actual data entered, then select and unlink the
other marriages one at a time. You may find that you will have to add
the children again to the primary marriage, if they accidently got
added to the other various marriages. (Do not use Delete, as that will
delete the actual spouse.)

To add the children, have the couple in family view again, and in the
childrens area below, right-click, and select add "Link to an
existing..." child.
