Jeremy,

I don't think there is an option to make boxes the same size but there is an
option which says "make all boxes the same". This refers to the borders though
and not the size.

Some observations:

1. You can edit the b,d,m,c, by going to the appearance tab, click box items
then on one of the ‘items to display’ (say birth), and click ‘Include label’,
then click ‘custom’ and enter whatever text you want in the box.

2. Where is the ‘make boxes the same size’ you are referring to? Have you
tried clicking the ‘reformat chart’ button (bottom left on sidebar)

Subject: [LegacyUG] New Legacy wall charts - A few observations

I am very impressed with the new Legacy wall charts, especially the Standard
Ancestor. But I am also disappointed that the program, at least in Beta form,
doesn't allow us to edit individual texts on screen (I don't mean the
specially-created text boxes). This option, as I imagine it, would mean
universal charts that can be edited to any Western language.

For people like me who are running out of time waiting for the Spanish version
of Legacy to break out of Beta, this is crucial: we must change b,d,m,c to
other letters. Other languages still not incorporated into Legacy, of course,
face the same problem.

TreeDraw Legacy, although tough to learn, so far is the most versatile in this
respect. It allows both direct, onscreen editing and "replace text" changes for
imports and updates.

That said, I'll also note that I cannot control the box sizes. The program will
not obey my choice to uncheck "make boxes the same size"; they continue coming
out all one size, leaving large wasted spaces in the older generation boxes for
which less data is known. Must be a bug.

One further observation: Bow Tie charts come up only in portrait size for me,
which means a very tall frame for my proposed ancestor wallchart. I'd prefer a
landscape size which can fit over a sofa or table. Although printers choose
this option, it seems that the program itself has to first tilt the data that
way as well.

I recognize that their may be workarounds for all this that I have missed, and
I'd delighted to hear about them.
