Why attach text as a sound file when you can just paste it into the Notes, and many other places. You are right about PDFs, and to answer a previous email - no, they don't print.
However, if I am using text, of say an email, as the source from which I received some information I am quite likely to convert it to a JPG and attach that to the source as a picture.
