There is a File ID Assistant that you can access by clicking on the binoculars
next to the File ID field. If you find the File ID that you want to use in the
list and want to number with the next consecutive number, place your cursor in
the File ID field and click on the Select +1 button. This will increment the
number and place the value in the File ID field.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] addresses help!

JL - Some weeks ago, one of the correspondents referenced a filing system at
your web page. I have been able to follow it and it looks like a great system
using the MRIN + a number for a specific item.

A follow-on correspondent also discussed numbering the Master Source documents
fwith a File ID also, to track them electronically in a PC database (for lack
of a better description). I sort of like that feature, but would one have to
keep an offline file to select the next sequential number and to insure it
didn't get repeated? Or is there an automated number system within Legacy that
would assign the next sequential number? The offline file could be put in an
Excel SS, but if there is an automated numbering system, I would like that much
better.
