It's OK, Jan. I've been watching the thread of Census vs Residence. My other program didn't allow a date with a the residence fact, so I didn't use it. I'm happy with my census entries, and many of my people lived on farms where there was no street or road recorded on the census, so I haven't missed much for a lot of them, but I'm thinking I might eventually go back and add a residence for my townies. I could just add this to my list of database "fixes". Big sigh.

Isn't it funny! When I saw the query asking about the difference between
Employment Event and Occupation Event my immediate thought was exactly as
Elizabeth has responded here. My next thought was - why on earth hadn't I
seen that obvious distinction before when I have entered numerous examples
of employer information under the Occupation event!!!??? DUH!

Cheers,
Jan

Employment Event vs Occupation EventOccupation would mean something like
Computer Programmer, where an Employment event would be more like IBM. One
is the skill involved, the other is the employer.
