I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba laptop. When I got it, it ran slow which I thought was strange for a new PC. I uninstalled most of the junk programs that came with it and cleaned up the registry. That helped improve the speed some.
After a couple of days, I got used to Vista and haven't had any problems. The only thing that I really notice is that Vista tends to be a little slow, but that's because it's a huge OS. The only programs I have installed under Vista are AVG Anti-Virus, AVG Anti-Spyware, Legacy 6.0, Legacy 7.0 Beta and Legacy Charting. I remember a while back some people were having trouble with it, but perhaps the bugs are ironed out of it now.
