I'll try this one. In order to compute a relationship, the ancestor that both individuals have in common must be found (else they are not truly related). Because the gene pool was once much smaller, there may be more than one common ancestor - a great-grandfather and a 3xgreat-grandmother, for instance. Some people may have tens - or even hundreds - of generations in their database, so multi-common ancestors are reasonably possible. Do you want the relationship calculator to find all the common ancestors, or, if you know there will be several, limit the calculation to only some of those common ancestors.

I notice in the relationship calculator under "options" and "limit to" there are several choices for "unique common ancestors". Who does that refer to or what does that mean? I did a search in the archives and nothing came up.
