I use and like Vista. While I use Firefox as my default browser (partly so I can run Zotero), I have IE7 on my laptop, and used it consistently for several months prior to the move to Firefox. I have never experienced any problems with it.
I am somewhat baffled by the violently negative feelings that so many people have about both of them. I will continue to use FF as my browser, and will set up Legacy 7 (when I have it) to use IE7 only with the mapping function. IE7 installation overwrites IE6, and the two cannot coexist on the same machine without some serious and unsupported registry hacking. IE7 will break intranet applications that utilize OWC (Microsoft's Office Web Components), among other things (google "IE7 breaks"), so I can't install IE7 if I want to continue to support my clients and get paid. I personally don't know anyone who currently uses IE7 - way too much trouble. Looks like I would need a separate computer for a full-up Legacy installation...what a disappointment...
