Actually, I just did that stuff over the weekend, so it wasn't that.
However, the site is functioning this morning.

If the archives are working for some and not others, then I'd suggest
you might try purging your browser cache. Best way for Internet
Explorer - shut IE down, right click on the link on the desktop,
select PROPERTIES, then under BROWSING HISTORY, select DELETE, then
pick your item(s) to delete (I usually do a DELETE ALL, but that can
also get rid of SOME useful cookies - your choice). Yes, you can do
this cleanup with IE up and running, but . . . And once your cache is
purged, empty your trash can too (er - I guess it is called recycle
bin now). Then restart IE.
You MIGHT also want to try deleting your Windows TEMP folder, but this
SHOULD NOT impact the browser - usually! There are tools for this,
but I don't recall them. I usually delete them manually, but that's
risky if you don't know what you are doing, so I'm not gonna go into
details on that process. (On a side note - having a bunch of junk in
your Windows TEMP folder can cause your PC to run slow or even weird.
Wish I could remember the "preferred tool" for purging it, but my mind
is blank at the moment - sorry)

The initial screen looks normal, but the search result is forbidden.

Dick,
In a nutshell "No". I used your URL and got straight through using a
Windows PC.

Is there a reason why the "archives" URL ...
http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/
... keeps coming up with this message?
