It took me a few times ...trial and error to get the intellishare
process right.

Since you cousin has volunteered to be the keeper of the master files,
she has the most difficult part of the job. She will need to look at
you database intact in whatever form you have to determine what if
anything you need to change in future to make the merging process
simpler.

I have done a few merges and in theory it sounds easy. IN practise it
is not if you have large amounts of volume being input regularly for
same people.

All you need to do is: Provided you have kept your Legacy files in
default location. .... copy the entire Legacy folder onto a cd and
send it to her. Your Legacy folder should contain your database, and
related pictures or multimedia files. I used to keep my genalogy
pictures in the default Windows My Computer / My Pictures folder, but
stopped doing that when I realized how much easier it was to isolate
the files being used by Legacy , by placing them in the Legacy folder.
It also makes it a lot easier when making backups and when making cds
for others.

You have the easy job...add data! It becomes your cousins problem to
consolidate it and get it back to you.

DO NOT ADD TO THE FILE UNTIL YOUR COUSIN SENDS YOU A NEW CD.

Then MAKE DAMN SURE YOU ARE USING HER NEW FILE WHEN YOU DO START ADDING INFO.
