Michele - I didn't get it either when Ruth and Kirsten first presented this problem several weeks ago. So I tried to duplicate it, which is very easy to do. It is a horrendous problem, wherein the sources appear within the text, rather than at the end, and when appearing at the end repeat themselves or are numbered incorrectly. You may be able to hand type reports for a few dozen people, but trying to hand type descendancy reports that include several generations and hundreds (if not thousands) of people with many events, long notes, and multiple sources, is not a reasonable solution.

Don't think these women are just whining. However, if you're not interested in this discussion, it is not against the law to just delete the messages.

I am just so perplexed. I am entering data with no problems. Bug fixes are on the way. Can y'all not print reports for a time until the report bug fixes are done or are you using Legacy as part of a genealogy business or something?

I do private work for a couple of probate judges as well as some small genealogy projects for others as I have time. I hand type all my reports. I have never relied on a genealogy program for my paid work. Everything I have in Legacy is my personal stuff.

I decided to go to bed but I'm up now. Well, sounds like I should wait a few days and see if an upgrade is released. I know I'll lose anything I've added in these last 3 months, but I'm willing to take that chance. Kind of the reason I created all the reports I did. I can compare Ver. 7 data with Ver. 6 data and hopefully add what I've lost.

Art, sorry this isn't your cup of tea, but what are genealogy programs for if they aren't to produce a written copy for our offspring. Once I'm gone, and by the way I'm a really old lady, my computer will be trashed and there goes all my family history, but if it's in hard copy on a shelf, someone may pick it up and say - gosh, look what Ruth did, how kind of her!
