Thanks Brian. I will use that to see if I have found all the clones of
people and marriages. I have unlinked all that I could find as I went
through the people.

Why do you think this happens? I have merged databases before and this didn
t happen.

LouAnn,

Legacy has some searches that will help you with this problem. What you
are seeing are multiple links between some people either as children of
the same couple or as multiple marriages between the same people.

Go To Search > Find > Miscellaneous Searches
There you can search for people with multiple spouses and for children
with multiple parents. Use the search for multiple spouses first.

For those who have multiple spouses who are the same person you can fix
the problem from the search list. In the right side select the family
tab. You will see the list of spouses and children as well as their
parents and siblings.
Examine the lists to see if any full families are duplicated. ie. the
spouse and all children are the same.
Select one of the duplicate spouses then click the Spouse list button
below the family list.
Select one of the duplicate spouses and use the UNLINK button. That will
remove that duplicate link.
NOTE:
The children will still be linked to that person and he/she will now
have an "unknown" spouse so you will have to repeat the unlinking step
to remove the unknown spouse and make a final break with the children.
