This was my dilemma as well. I've run Legacy under Parallels for several years and it just got to be too much trouble. I've recently switched to Reunion 9. It was, IMHO, the best of all the Mac applications I tried and I am very happy with many features of it. You are right though, it is nowhere near as feature rich as Legacy and there are some Legacy features that I miss terribly. I was impressed with how well Reunion imported a GEDCOM produced by Legacy including taking care of many multimedia links. After I get a little more experience with Reunion I had planned a blog post on the Legacy features I miss most and will forward it to the ReunionTalk forum. One can dream.

I intend to keep my Legacy database up to date but I don't know if I'll go back to it. What I've done with Reunion is place my database and image folders in a Dropbox folder (http://www.getdropbox.com/) and every change I make is automatically distributed to 3 other Macs. That way I can grab a notebook and run to the library with it. All changes I make at the library are waiting on my desktop when I get home. I tried to set up something like this with Legacy but I never got it to work.

Sorry if this is off topic but I know there is a growing interest in Mac based genealogy. I wish the Legacy folks would embrace Mac as another platform.

Regards,
Bob

Legacy is not available for the Mac. So far all those that are Mac
lovers either have to use something as Boot Camp, Parellel or other
virtual machines to be able to use Windows inside of your Mac OS.
Other choice? Nada....use a Mac only program.

Since the Mac genealogy programs are nowhere near as mature in regards
to features, etc. I've bit the bullet and use Parellels and Windows
XP. Not my ideal solution but it works until developers give us
something for the Mac.
