Hello Joshua Do you mean a GEDCOM file John ----- Original Message ----- From: Joshua Levy To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, January 12, 2009 9:05 PM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Indicating same sex partners
I used Legacy 6, and worked around this problem by creating a new Legacy file, with just the couple and their marriage in it, marking one M and the other F, no matter what the truth is. Then export that file as GENCOM, edit the GENCOM file using textpad or any plain-text editor so that they were both M or both F, whatever the truth is. Then load that GENCOM file into your main file, and you are done! The two people will be married and the same sex. in your Legacy file. This have never caused me any problems in my reports or anything, but I must admit that I haven't reviewed them in great detail. I only have one married same sex couple in my family tree that I know of. Not only would it require extensive re-writing of Legacy's code, there would also be a ripple effect that would affect several of the Legacy add-on programs made by other companies. Please go to http://www.moss-fritch.com/legacy.htm for a work around. This info was compiled by one of our users. Thanks for using Legacy.
