I reccomend using what it was called at the time, and in the language the record was written in. In the 'Place' notes, I put other names for the same place, with a time frame when each was used. I include an example: In 1800, Indiana Territory created from Northwest Territory. In 1801, Dearborn area was in Hamilton county, Ohio. In 1803, Ohio became state, Dearborn area was transferred to Indiana. In 1803, Dearborn county was created from Clark, Indiana Territory. The other choice, keeping up with all the changes of all government units to stay current is overwhelming. I am just starting on my German lines, so I am learing as I go. GOOD Luck Rich in LA CA
