If you go to the second individual from the end of line ancester you will
then have the end of line ancester in the parents position. Now if you double
click on the actual end of line ancester you will have 'unknown' in both the
father and mother position. It just takes one extra click. I then go to the
father and put XXX in the given name. Then I can delete the unknows
ancester. This takes away both the unknown father and the unknown mother.

I hope this helps. It is easy to do.

Go to the Marriage List and look for all Unknown to Unknown marriages.

I think that one of the causes of this is importing data. I don't
remember the details because I haven't imported anything in a while.
