You can also download Regional Databases and import them into your own "custom" Geo Location Database. For details, go to the Help file in Legacy and look up Geo Location Database Setup.
The counties in the Geo are *current* counties. You can't get historical locations. The database will only work through Legacy. Thanks for using Legacy. Ask support or sales for them to send them out on a cd. It does not need to be online to use it. It has thousands of locations. You can put partial names and hit search, and it will find the locations, and fill in the data it found if you wish. Legacy also has a feature that when you enter a invalid county place names, it will tell you that place, and the county was not created, and tell you when it is/was. Legacy also has a feature under "Tools" USA County Verifier. It will go through your datbase and make a report of the ones that are not counties at the time.
