I have got myself into a pickle.
I was adding two generations onto my husband's paternal line, when
really I needed to be adding three. Because the name James is used
so many times, I messed up.
Okay, I cannot tell you exactly what I did, but I discovered I had
left out a generation. So, I unlinked the (previously) oldest
ancestor from the newly-entered parents & siblings. Then I entered
in the missing father, except that he needed to be part of that list
of siblings, so when I added HIS father & mother I clickec on "link
to existing" to get him inserted.
Well, NOW I have two sets of identically named parents for those
siblings. One set are the parents of the James I forgot to enter,
and the other set are the parents of the rest of his siblings. They
show up as "(1/2)" with their mother's name and everything!
Is there some "combine duplicates" thing I could run? Or should I
just delete and start entering again?
Another word for "combine duplicates" is Merge. Look it up in the
on-line help.
