Syble, could you clarify for me where, exactly, you explain why you
think the tombstone is in error? I have a situation like that where I
am quite certain that my grandfather's year of death is wrong on his
stone and I'd like to explain how I know it.
Thanks,
Penny

I, too am a fan of findagrave, have surveyed two cemeteries, and have
added numerous other records, and am the county keeper for our
county. I recently started adding in Legacy an Event to the
individual: Burial Records-findagrave, I only source it as
www.findagrave.com <http://www.findagrave.com/>, but then in the notes
section of the of the person's Event, I add the findagrave URL for
that particular person.
I've found several dates differing from the State Death Indexes,
Social Security and or Death Certificates, but with having a record of
the tombstone from findagrave, researchers can note the
discrepancies. I really like having a photo of the tombstone, so this
helps to fill in the gaps for that also. I know that the dates on
tombstones are not always correct either, but I still like having that
record, and on one particular individual, (my great grandmother) I'm
made explanations showing why I believe the date of birth is incorrect.
