approx half of my sources were entered using the old system and the
rest have been entered using SourceWriter. I am about to start
re-entering the old ones using SourceWriter and am looking for a
reliable way to combine the sources so that all of the existing
citation links remain. The"combine sources" function described in the
help file doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?
No, you can't "automatically" within Legacy combine old and new style
Sources, but there are a couple of ways of doing what you want.
I believe Dennis Kowallek has created a too; which will do this and no
doubt he will be along in a moment to tell you about that.
I am very happily and successfully using a method described by Richard
Van Wasshnova which involves using Access. If you have Access and are
comfortable with using it you might want to check out Richard's method.
You'll find it in the LUG Archive with the subject line "How to merge a
basic source into ESM template source using Access" and dated 09 June
2009.
