Sally, If you want a visual cue in your database in the form of colour you might consider using the uncertain gender option. In the Individual information window , next to the Title suffix box there are three radio buttons , M , F and ?. Even if you know the gender of the individual you could set the ? button to express uncertainty. The colours are controlled from the Cutomise option Colours tab. I tend to use the default blue for Male , red for Female and I set the ? Unknown to yellow which stands out well. It is not quite what it was intended for , but if Geoff can track the pedigree of his pet dog with Legacy I am sure you could allow yorself some latitude in interpretation.
