Hi Judy,

The most likely place where your saved backup files are stored is in your
C/Legacy/Data.

In order to confirm if this is where you are saving them you can do the
following, with legacy open go to the top left corner of the page and click
File>backup family file>on the popup screen click on select name and location
for data backup, at the top of the next popup screen you will see that it is
saved in, with a window that will porbably say "Data" in it, on the right side
of this window is a down arrow, click on the arrow and you should be able to
see the path for your backups.

You can also check where the path of your multimedia files are located while
your in this screen.

Leo

Subject: [LegacyUG] family file location problem
Date: Thu, 25 Feb 2010 15:19:36 -0500

I am having difficulty with locating my family files that have been saved. I
believe I did something incorrectly when I first installed my Legacy program
and started using it or when I made changes in trying to find my family files.
I’ve read through all of the Help menu items as well as the Legacy Users Guide
and nothing seems to address my problem. I am hoping that someone who is
somewhat of an expert in how and where the family files created with Legacy
should be stored on my computer might be able to help me out of my difficulty.
If you could tell me what your file path reads in the following instances, I
think I might be able to figure out what I’ve done wrong.

Under Help menu-General Information, Family File Information,
What does your file information read for – Family File Path? ________
What does your file information read for – Legacy Path? ____________

Under Customize-Locations
What does your default location of family files read? ________
What does your default location for picture files read? _______

Thank you in advance for any assistance you might be able to provide.
