It's called a source! If the message is in the form of an email then I use the email source and I attach an image of the message to the source. If it's a tree then the source is the tree which you have downloaded from where ever. You can add the names of the individuals into the source detail.

It can get difficult to remember who has contacted me about who. I have thought of starting to use ToDo as a way of storing the information because they can all be listed. What I would really like is some sort of note that can be attached to all the ancestors of an Individual so I could quickly see any contacts who have the common ancestor. I would need to be able to edit this so I could removed some Individuals and add to others if I got further information.
