I tried it first as a PDF and didn't like the look of the report. Then I tried it as an RTF file and it didn't look any better. I'd hoped that my converting a .pdf file to some format of text file, I'd keep all the formatting, page numbers, etc. No such luck. It was even worse. Trying all the different methods was purely experimentation, to avoid months of editing and re-indexing.
