Kathy, The Standard Finder at http://labs.familysearch.org/ listed the following results: Rochlitz, Leipzig, Sachsen, Germany with ISO CODE DE-SN, and 51.05N, 12.8E
It listed many more alternatives, apparently Rochlitz, Germany covers a rather large area. Hope this helps, Charles From: Kathy Meyer [mailto:kmeyer2...@gmail.com] Sent: Saturday, January 15, 2011 8:25 PM To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Subject: [LegacyUG] place standardization I found the following in one of my files: Rochlitz, Leipzg., Sax. So I click on the icon to go to the Geo Location Database and it gives me Rochlitz, (no county, just blank), Sachsen, Germany So I don't know what the "Leipzg." stood for or if it is an important part of the location. What do you think is the appropriate thing to do? I'm sure I have many more similar situations. Is there a way to ADD a standardized location and still keep the original just in case you need those little details somewhere down the line?
