Bruce,

Since you mention changing RINs, one downside is that should you have a Legacy
based Pedigree Website the HTML file names are the same as the RINs eg 81.html
where “81” is the RIN. Hence anybody who has bookmarked a page may well end up
with a different individual. Not to mention the fact that the Google Search
Engine records will be incorrect for some time after the change.

I renumbered many (most) of my MRINs some time ago for the reason you mentioned
and have not noticed any problems.

  Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for the additional discussion of this system. Since you have
re-numbered many of your MRINs, have you experienced any problems with Phantom
RINs, or Phantom MRINs, or any other type of problems?

I have read the Help Files and Legacy User's Manual that explains how to do
this. I guess my greatest concern is there a downside to renumbering those
MRINs?

  Hi Charles

I use this system and had to re-number many of my MRINS. I may need to do
some of them again as it is a long time since I first did it and I recently got
a funeral notice for an aunt and found her MRIN was a huge number. Have a look
here for a good discussion on the system.
