Hi Diane,

To make this a little clearer for you.

Make backups of both files
Decide which is the main file
Determine what is the last assigned Rin and Mrin
Import using the Legacy option the second file into the main file
When asked what numbers to assign, use first unassigned Rin and Mrin
Merge using the manual option; keep the main file on the left
Do the cut and paste when two separate notes
After doing some checking that everything is there, delete the second
file

Good luck,

Charlotte.

The way you keep them is, during the merging, each choice that has 2
different
notes for a person, you can cut and paste all, from right to left. If
you put
the lower RIN on the left, the lower RIN wll be kept. Make backups
before, then
you can not worry if done wrong.
