Sherry,

You may be unfamiliar with DVD-RAM. It looks like a DVD but appears like a
slow, internal hard disk to Windows. In principle it can be formatted to pretty
much any file system, but UDF is usual - for good reason. XP used FAT32
natively and UDF with second party software, Vista either natively. Think of it
as kinda like a 4.7 GB, very fast floppy disk. Again in principle, a BIOS set
to boot from a DVD-RAM in an internal modern CD/DVD R/W drive should be able to
do so and run the operating system as well as an application like Legacy, but I
don't know if UDF would be a problem for Windows booting. Also in principle,
any Legacy program which could installed to be invoked from an internal hard
drive other than the C: drive ought to work from a DVD-RAM, likewise the Family
Files.

I use DVD-RAM for Family Files, for backup because of the reliability, for
transfer and synchronization between machines, cross platform with media and
other database, for convenience - no USB dongle sticking out or cables and
lumps. My question was more directed to the possibility of including a working
Legacy - invokable or bootable.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy run on Disk

As I wrote before - Legacy must be installed on the computer and the
Family Files need to be on either the hard drive or an external drive.
