It is so long since I read the words above that box that I didn't realise that 'MRIN' is included in them!
What is set by using the option is the User ID including the RIN and the User ID on the Marriage Screen, which will include any letter/word which you entered i.e. the UID sets the use of both, and puts that letter/word plus the RIN/MRIN as appropriate.
