Whenever I use Access it asks me if I want to save the changes if I press "X".
And that's the way any properly designed and written application works. It
will roll back any changes made. It's always been that way going all the way
back to DOS apps. Why do you think they picked an "X"? It means get out of
here, don't do it. Just like on a box of poison. To have it act any other way
is counter-intuitive.

Bob,

Have you considered that when saving to an Access DB this is done on the
fly, that is when you make a change it is saved at the time you make the
change. This is not the same as saving an image or text to file.

With all due respect, you're mistaken. The Windows standard is to exit
without saving when the "x" is clicked. Clicking "Apply" saves any changes
without exiting the dialog and clicking "Save" saves the data and exits.
Legacy also doesn't always make standard use of the "Apply" button, although
I can't remember off-hand which dialog gave me trouble and don't have time
at the moment to research it.

A more correct interpretation, and this is throughout Windows not just
in Legacy, is that the x means apply changes and exit. In other words
using x is just like using Save.
