I don’t use the source or the phrase “personal knowledge” unless the person actually witnessed the event. If great Aunt Marge tell me the dates of birth of her children, that would be personal knowledge. If Great Aunt Marge tells me her father’s date of birth I would simply source that as an interview. I may be splitting hairs but I think personal knowledge requires an eyewitness account.
