Thanks Ron,
Yes the charts that I produce in Family Tree Maker 2009 always display the Y in the death field. What program do you use that does not have this problem? Are you able to read the exported GEDCOM from Legacy to see if yours show the Y in the death field? This is what I want to know as it is what I see in mine before I import the GEDCOM file in another program. I only generate charts from a GEDCOM using one program and they do not. I will explain what the bug is here anyway to see if any of you noticed the same? Whenever I export my Legacy file into GEDCOM, I always check it in GEDCOM format using the wonderful tool program – The Complete Genealogy Products’ GedPad Pro – for my satisfaction before importing into another program. What I see in GedPad Pro is an issue with the Death field – if this field is blank (i.e. no date or place on it) for any individual – it is then annotated with a Y. That seems to have been created by Legacy. I think that shouldn’t have happened at all. If I don’t amend this – i.e. removing the letter Y – the death field on charts will all have the Y in it. Hope this makes sense.
