Carol,
Since you missed his message here it is though it doesn’t help in tracking
why you didn’t receive it.
 First, add the child

Add ----> New unlinked
individual

Then, in family view (the child will be the only one in the
view)

Right click on Child --> Add --> Mother --> Link to
existing Person

Hope this helps

As you can see it is much simpler and you don’t have to
add extra people and then delete them.

I have just read John Clifford's response under 'How to add an
illegitimate child' and he comments on a reply 'from Paul'
Paul's message has not come through to me. Is it possible to track from
that as to what might be happening?
