If the location was different from the wedding, I think I would create an event
for it, so the location would show up in searches.  Otherwise, a note seems
sufficient.

There's nothing stopping *you* from creating your own event type for this.

Go to View--> Master Lists --> Event Definition

and press the Add button. Now, use the supplied sentence structures as a guide
for creating your new Event Type.
