Tim, There is a line for the URL in the Source Info tab for the Message Board template.
However, I'm always nervous about URLs direct to a link on a site because web masters tend to move things around. It was there two years ago but where is it now? The Text field is for something directly from the Master Source so the "path" to the specific message would fit there, as well as the translation. Comments is for your comments about the source - is it readable? Is the submitter reliable? history behind it or any other interesting tidbit not directly printed in the source.
