Yes, Legacy does backup your actual multimedia files, but in Help it
says "If you are also backing up your multimedia files (these are only
the files that are linked to someone or something in your family file)
click on the Select Name and Location for Multimedia Backup button and
indicate where you want the backup to be created."  Note the bit in
parentheses which seems to indicate that the answer to your last
question is "no".
