I believe this is because GEDCOM does not handle SW style sources or does not 
handle them well.  I, for one, will not give up the convenience of SW.  But 
then, for now I have no reason to import my database to another genealogy 
program.

Unless the mail server has screwed up, I don’t see any responses to your very 
basic question. I can remember a few years back when the SW capabilities were 
first introduced and there was a promised conversion tool but it soon became 
painfully evident that this tool would never happen and the conversion would 
have to be done manually, one at a time. And so the conversion back to Basic 
would be the same path: manually, one at a time.



But a side note/question for everybody. Why in the past few months has there 
been a run to convert back to Basic? Just curious what I’m missing here.
