Thanks everyone for the replies.  It now working okay.


The answer was as suggested just a simply change under options.  So what I have 
I done to make it work.  Go to “options”, “customise”, “starting family” 
Changed “display Preferred startup family” to “display last viewed family”.  I 
have close the family file and reopened successfully.  Also shutdown the PC and 
started again.  Again it works.  Not sure why, as second wife is marked as 
preferred but as least it works.

I wonder if he talking about how it appears in a report rather than in a screen 
view.  In a report, if the marriages have dates, the first marriage will appear 
first.

On screen, the preferred wife will be the one shown when in his Family or 
Pedigree View, because she is the preferred wife.
