Hi Paula.
Yes “Sv.” Stands for ”svar” which in Danish is the word for reply. (Or rather an answer to a question). Wish there was an easier way for sorting – though sometimes I get surprised with WHAT Outlook is sorting correctly in spite of differences in language and subjects. J I am so happy I know so much English/American as I do – it makes communication across the World so much easier. We know an elderly gentleman – he was born in Detroit in 1934 and taken to Denmark for a brief visit - by his Danish father (his American mother died during delivery of him) in 1939 to see his aging grandmother. Then came the war (WWII) and they were not able to return to the US and now he has found his one sister after total silence since just after the war… BUT he cannot communicate with her – not directly anyway – but hurray for Google translate and friends who DO know more English than he does by now. If I may be of help finding places to look for sources – or even shortcuts let me know. I need to look for a better way to follow a thread, to keep up with you & other international colleagues. Wonder if AT&T/Yahoo can handle that? haha Every day is a new adventure. --Paula in Texas Researching: Adair Baker Beasley Benson Betz Bigley Blagrave Burton Chapman Clement Clough Coppernoll Costine Daulton Dinwiddie Doody Ellis Exline Field Floran Floyd Gates Goodale Gordon Gump Hale Harbaugh Hind Hopkins Hughes Hurdle Jones Klein Koyle Laswell McDonald Misner Passwaters Pelton Roberts Roche Ryburn Sanford Short Singer Sullivan Weller Williams Legacy User Group guidelines: <http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp> http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: <http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/> http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: <http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/> http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: <http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp> http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook ( <http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree> http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog ( <http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com> http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
