Technically, the file size limit of 16 EB is imposed by the hard drive file system, presumably NTFS, of which Windows imposes a 16 TB limit. ZIP64 apparently has a 16 EB limit also so that should handle every Legacy user. In other words, the OP should have no problems for the foreseeable future. But as his family file grows exceptionally large, he may need some more horsepower to avoid sluggish computer response in dealing with the database.

Your multimedia ZIP file has an upper size limit imposed by Windows and bears no relationship to the number of individuals and families you have in your Legacy database. There are users out there, with files containing significantly more records than you. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg (g) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
