Hi Kathy When I enter a new place, I just click the down arrow next to it to bring up the map. I don't use Geocode. If the place is not obvious or is missing from the map, it is very rare. If I know where it is I move the pin there. I then click on the Verified column.
If I don't know where it is and it isn't on the map, I use some other method like Google to try to find it.
