Brian, That must be wrong behaviour as you would only insert the backup drive when you wanted to use it. You may want to use the USB connections for other devices when legacy is connected.

I ejected the drive, started Legacy then plugged in the external drive before telling Legacy to make a backup. The backup location had reset to C: and was not set to the external drive when that became available. If you want Legacy to remember your backups to an external drive that drive has to be connected every time you start Legacy.
