I don’t think there is a standard Windows function for doing that. If you look at Windows file explorer, at a folder with mixed jpg and pdf files, and you have in Thumbnail view, you’ll see thumbnails of the jpg files but just a big icon for the pdf files.
The only place I can remember seeing thumbnails of pdf files is in Paperport. So it is possible, but they may be using proprietary software to do it. From: robs_familytree .
