Hi Scott This is what I would do (others may have better methods!)
(1) Firstly, if no father is shown for Mary's 7 children, that blank space is a "ghost" person, already attached to all the children. So Click To Add Person and add a new person (call him anything you like! maybe Marysunknownpartner) He will then have a name and an RIN record identification number. In the Marriage section, select "this couple did not marry". At this stage, all the children should be attached to both these parents. So at least you can see what's happening. (2) Take note of the names or RINs of the three children you now have fathers for. (3) Right-click on each of those children, and Unlink from Parents. (4) Select Mary, then click on the Spouse Icon (far left of her icon bar) and add one of the new "partners". In the marriage section, select "this couple did not marry", (5) This relationship should now be in Family View. In the children field, Click to add a Child, then Link to An Existing Son/Daughter (actually it doesn't matter if you say son or daughter at this stage). The Name List will pop up - select the Child/Children. (6) Repeat for the second new partner and child/children. (7) Lastly, Right-Click on one of the children, select View - Show 1/2 Kids. Hope this helps Mary Young On 4 August 2014 15:12, mime <mykin...@yahoo.com> wrote: > I am hoping someone can guide me thru on how to add a father.
