Subject: [LegacyUG] New update, same old problem: "No designated printer"

I was hoping the new update would bring back my printer which disappeared after
the last update, but no such luck. The new update did have a place to designate
a printer, but alas, it showed that my printer was already there, so I tried
to remove it so I could re-designate it, but it wouldn't remove.

Another odd thing: when I click on the Legacy icon on my desktop, it opens up
the Report Font selection page, not the main program. When I close that window,
I get the "Warning" no designated printer box. When I close that, it finally
goes to the main screen.

I got out my deluxe 8.0 disc to see if I could re-install over the program,
which it seemed to do, but no change - still no printer.

I tried to remove the entire program, but that didn't work either. It partially
removed (icon left the desktop), but I got an error message there that it
couldn't open "the install.log".

I tried to re-install again hoping it would just install 8.0, but it didn't
install the basic Legacy 8 as I hoped, but went right back to 8.00458 and I
still have no designated printer.

I don't know if it really uninstalled - I don't think so, because all my
databases are still there.

So it still won't print, won't uninstall and I am at my wit's end. I guess I
could buy another computer, but that's not in the budget right now. I've used
Legacy for so many years, it is not something I want to leave behind.
