I don’t know about best way but if I wanted to add them to the family, I’d add as gender unknown (which will show up as a different color) and use Infant Surname as their names placeholder. Generally I add in double brackets in the SUFFIX area the name of the dad. This info in double brackets won’t print anywhere but it ID’s the infant for me in the name index.
You could otherwise add the information in the couple’s marriage notes but it probably wouldn’t be as obvious to you there if your main purpose is to be reminded to search for these children. What would be the best way to add the 3 unknown children? I believe that this will help me to remember that the children existed and to search for a birth and death certificate for them and hopefully eventually get their names at some point.
