You could always make a copy then open that.

And for those wearing propeller beanies (aka nerds), you can always look at the 
“Legacy8.Lic” file in the C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Legacy Family 
Tree\_AppData folder (using Notepad to view it).

 

But now, I’m going to get an email from Sherry asking why I would go ahead and 
tell users to mess around with their protected files and risk messing up their 
own programs.

If you still have your old computer and the program installed. Then you can 
find your Cust Num by going to the help tab at the top and under file 
properties. The information on installing (and downloading if need be) can be 
found on the support site.  

 

Hope I did not over step by give what could be considered as tech support. I 
figured I knew the answer and it would be faster.
